To The Guy Who Thinks His Dad Hates Him

   Your dad doesn't hate you, I promise you he doesn't; you are his child and he loves you, so very much. He's hard on you because he loves you, he's strict with you because he does not want you to make the same mistakes he did. Your father wants you to grow up to be a wonderful man, a better man than he has been; he wants you to be a great father yourself, better than he has been to you. Dear boy your father does not hate you, no, he loves you so much more than you are able to comprehend right now.
Your dad, he remembers what it's like to be your age, young and amazed by anything and everything around him. He once to fell in love so easily and was heartbroken by a girl who was careless with his heart. He once to had the same dreams you think are all your own, he once to believed his father hated him, but discovered after quite a few years, that his father only loved him more than there are stars in the sky.

You, young man, are so deeply loved by your father and right now it may seem like he hates you, that his ambitions are selfish and foul-hearted. He seems like he doesn't know you the least bit because everything you want is exactly what he does not want for you. Trust me, he does love you and he does take into consideration what you say and what you want, but he is able to see that not all your crazy ideas and decisions are best for you.
Someday, you too will find the wisdom of a father and you will realize that your father has loved you all along and has only ever wanted what was best for you; when you have kids of your own one day, you will use exactly or almost the same exact tactic your father did with you.
Just remember that right now, sweet boy, your father does love you very much even though it feels like he hates you.
