An Open Letter to My Person, I Love You

You have always been there for me whenever I've needed you the most and even in the times I never knew I needed you. I can't even begin to imagine where I might have ended up if I hadn't of met you that day in the bathroom, since that day we have been through a lifetime together and strayed apart, but we always come back because you're my freakin person. 

Life is screwy and sometimes people are just straight up assholes. I have seen you get dragged around and beaten down, but you always rise above and come back stronger because you are a warrior; I know that you can't always believe that especially on those days when it seems like you won't be able to pull yourself out of bed just to face the demons. You are a queen and I see the way you conquer the world, as if it's literally nothing. 

You are growing and I am so proud of the woman you're becoming. 

I know someday's it seems like the whole world is ending especially on those days when you're rejected and heartbroken; believe me everyone has been there and it does get better from there. You get this newfound strength, a will to make yourself into a better person for yourself because who needs someone who can't see your worth when you can learn to love the girl in the mirror. 

Life is a bully and it will do everything it can to make you suffer and throw you around till you're black and blue, but that's when you climb to your feet and tell yourself this is not where it ends. I have seen you at your lowest moment in your life so far and I watched you find the strength and courage to confide in your mother about something that is hard topic to discuss. You reached out for help even when you were terrified because you didn't want it to be too late. 

You're my hero because even on the dark days you drag yourself out of bed to face a day you weren't ever sure you could survive.

I have learned so much from you over the years and I can't even fathom what would've happened had you not taught me it's okay to be gentle while holding the strength of a thousand armies within my soul. You have an amazing talent for the arts and I am in awe of how much you've conquered in the theatre world these last few years. 

You have shown me that it's okay to be comfortable in your body all of the time as long as at the end of the day you remember to love the girl in the mirror because she is exactly who you're meant to be in that exact moment. You have shown humility in some of the most difficult situations and are always willing to speak up and tell someone to cut it with the bullshit because no one is good all the freaking time. 

You shine bright in every thing I have seen you take on, you've learned that the you're only person who can dull the shine inside your soul and since that moment you have shown brighter than the stars in the night sky. 

You are my person, even as our lives continue to move forward and we see each other less, you will never stop being my person. 

I love you so much and I will never forget the lessons you've taught me, even if someday we're meant to part ways for a while. 

I need you to always, always remember even on the bad days, even on the days you're rejected and heartbroken; please darling, remember walk tall, square your shoulders, and you're the only one who can dull the light inside your soul because you are a queen. 

You are a queen, even during the dark days.
